What is a Hybrid Schedule?
A core belief behind Cornerstone's mission is that parents are entrusted and charged by the Lord with the principal role of stewarding their children. Cornerstone's model is intended to supplement, not replace, the role of Godly parents in the lives of their kids. To that end, our schedule is deliberately condensed (Tuesday-Thursday, 8:30-1:30) to affirm parents as primary caretakers of their families. Children at Cornerstone receive instruction in core subjects at school with the expectation that parents will joyfully partner with us by reaffirming these concepts at home. Cornerstone leads in matters of educational instruction for enrolled families while supporting the Christian discipleship that is already happening at home and in a local church. Please see the below sample schedule reflective of our aim.

Homeschool Requirement:
Cornerstone is modeled intentionally to partner with parents in their children’s education and therefore does not offer enough in-school hours to be a traditional private school. Students are considered homeschooled and as such, are required to provide the following:
Notice of Intent:
According to the rules established for homeschooling in Virginia, you are required to submit a notice of intent (NOI) to your school division superintendent by August 15 each year.
Evidence of Progress:
Parents are also required to submit evidence of progress to their local school division by August 1, the following year. Results from the standardized testing that Cornerstone will administer at the end of the school year will be provided to satisfy this requirement.
